Marriage Ministry
A ceremony that means what you have built.
Our ministers officiate weddings across California.
A wedding is a service of worship before it is anything else. Vows are made to each other and before God, and the ceremony should carry that weight without becoming heavy.
We plan it with you. What is said, what is read, who stands where, and how much of it is yours. Some couples want the traditional words. Some want to write their own. Most want a little of both.
What we handle
- Planning
- A conversation about what you want the ceremony to say, and a full outline you approve before the day.
- Rehearsal
- We walk it through with your wedding party.
- The ceremony
- Officiated by an ordained minister of RCA holding the faculty to solemnize marriage.
- The license
- We complete the officiant's portion and return it to the county within the deadline the state requires.
- Where
- Your venue, your church, or ours.
- Cost
- Ask us. Couples who complete our premarital course receive a reduced fee.
You do not need to be a Christian
Many of the couples we marry are not, and many have no church at all. You are welcome here either way, and nobody will be asked to profess anything to be married by us.
What we bring is a ceremony rooted in a Christian understanding of marriage. We will walk you through exactly what that means, word for word, long before the day, and you will decide whether it fits.
Better together
Most couples who ask us to officiate also take the premarital counseling course, and the two are built to fit. The course ends with the first draft of your vows and a walk through the ceremony, so the person marrying you already knows the work behind it.
They are separate services, and you can book either on its own. Together they cost less than apart.
The ceremonies we perform
Our ministers officiate weddings within the understanding of marriage set out in our Statement of Faith: a covenant between one man and one woman, made before God and intended for life.
If you do not have a church
Many couples come to us without a congregation, sometimes after years away. That is a normal place to start and we are glad to meet you there. If you would like help finding a church home near you, ask, and we will make some introductions.
